I think it was the same image that I used the erase tool. Magically, this capability came back after a number of closes/opens. I've had edits lock similarly to how you describe: the picture is changed but the filters aren't visible. Cropping is generally broken, with the dimensions (e.g., 16x9) having no effect until some number of entry/exits to the crop tool.

J (clipping) and C (cropping) shortcut keys simply don't work, at least with my US keyboard. Apparently, putting it there triggers Windows to do its own indexing and thumbnails. Moving (i.e., deleting and rebuilding) the catalog in a location other than Pictures fixes some of the indexing problems. Most of my problems became apparent immediately upon use. As you said, it seems like 元 wasn't tested on Windows. I've been playing with it on Windows, creating a catalog and editing some images. I can't believe it's being sold as a finalized piece of software. I am convinced it has not even been tested on PC at all, because I've tried 3 different systems, including a ridiculously high-spec one with 16-core Threadripper CPU and 32 gigs of memory. I hear it works fine on Macs, but it is totally unusable on Windows.

If I ever close the editor, I won't be able to come back to the same image again, because Luminar just won't load the edited photo and the tools will stay inactive. Even if I get lucky and I am allowed to actually edit something, I can only do it once. Because most of the time the photo isn't even loaded in full-res at all and the editing tools stay inactive. It is slow to load, slow to index files, slow to display previews, slow to load the editing features.

Honestly, this is THE worst performing piece of software I have seen in years.
